Non-surgical rhinoplasty
Non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as a liquid rhinoplasty or non-surgical nose job, is a cosmetic procedure aimed at reshaping or enhancing the appearance of the nose without the need for surgery. Instead of making incisions, as in traditional rhinoplasty, non-surgical rhinoplasty involves the use of injectable fillers to sculpt and reshape the nose.
Steps.
Consultation: The process begins with a consultation with a qualified cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist. During this consultation, the patient discusses their goals and expectations for the procedure, and the practitioner evaluates the patient’s nose to determine if they are a suitable candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty.
Preparing for the procedure: Before the procedure, the practitioner may apply a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area and minimize discomfort during the injections.
Injection of fillers: The practitioner carefully injects a hyaluronic acid-based filler, such as Restylane or Juvederm, into specific areas of the nose to achieve the desired results. These fillers can be used to correct a variety of imperfections, including bumps, asymmetry, or a drooping nasal tip. The filler is injected strategically to add volume, reshape contours, and create a more symmetrical appearance.
Sculpting and molding: After the filler is injected, the practitioner may massage and sculpt the filler to ensure a smooth and natural-looking result. They may also use their fingers to shape the filler and refine the contours of the nose.
Post-procedure care: Once the injections are complete, the patient is typically able to resume their normal activities immediately. However, they may be advised to avoid touching or applying pressure to the treated area for a short period of time. Some temporary swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection sites is common but usually resolves within a few days.
Follow-up appointments: Patients may be scheduled for follow-up appointments to assess the results and make any necessary adjustments.
It’s important to note that while non-surgical rhinoplasty can produce dramatic improvements in the appearance of the nose, it is not a permanent solution. The results typically last for several months to a year, after which the filler gradually breaks down and is absorbed by the body. Patients who wish to maintain their results may choose to undergo periodic touch-up treatments. Additionally, non-surgical rhinoplasty may not be suitable for every patient or every aesthetic concern, and those with more complex issues may still require traditional surgical rhinoplasty for optimal results.
